Agriculture Gives Riches To A Nation

“ Agriculture not only gives riches to a nation, but the only riches she can call her own. ” – Samuel Johnson.  Don’t let America lose her riches! If you think it can’t or won’t happen, think again.

We are quietly losing our ability to provide affordable food for our nation.  Farming and ranching  are under attack in the United States and so are your rights to feed your family.  Extremists groups are working to control agriculture and restrict animal ownership.   There is even a “think tank” group based in Washington D.C. that is recommending a 40% tax on beef and a 20% tax on other meat products.  Read more about it here: https://wattsupwiththat.com/2016/11/19/uk-researchers-tax-food-to-reduce-climate-change/

Here’s a small sampling of what has happened on this last November 8th:

  • November 2016 – Question 3 in Massachusetts passed – This measure was championed by the Humane Society of the United States. Cornell University projects that this will increase the cost of eggs by $95 million and the cost of pork by $154 million in the first year alone.  To learn more follow this link: http://www.stopfoodtax.com/.  We’ve already seen the results of this type of legislation.  In 2008 and 2010, Proposition 2 and AB-1437 in California  Today the price of eggs in California is 90% higher than the rest of the nation.  To learn more follow this link: http://www.stopfoodtax.com/lessons-from-california/
  • November 2016 – State Question 777 Oklahoma Right To Farm defeated – This measure was opposed by the Humane Society of the United States and the Humane Society Legislative Fund. State Question 777 would have allowed farmers and ranchers to defend themselves against unjust laws or laws that would harm the industry.

If you still think that these extremist groups can’t have an impact, the European Nation is a prime example of what happens.  Did you know that due to the detrimental effects of extremists, Europe as a whole, is now importing more than 60% of its food?  This is a dramatic change since 1997, when at that time they imported only 20%.   If you look at those numbers in a different way, in 1997 they were producing 80% of the food they consumed and today, they are only producing 40%.

We need to protect our nation’s agriculture and ability to produce food.  Farmers and ranchers must be able to make decisions based on science.  Instead, America is falling prey to emotional appeals from radical special interest groups who know nothing about farming and raising livestock.

In order to protect our food production and to continue to affordably feed our families we need to take action.  The first step is to become educated.  Read through our website, sign up for our newsletter and then spread the word.   http://protecttheharvest.com/newsletter-sign-up/
