Roger’s Background

Roger Bias of Roger Bias Performance Horses grew up in a family of cowboys. He watched the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity for the first time in 1971. His first time going as a competitor was not until 2003. The horsemen he claims had the biggest influence on him are 2014 NRCHA Hall of Famer Ron Ralls, 7 time NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Champion Ted Robinson, and NCHA Hall of Famer Scott Weis.

Now, Roger oversees his own ranch east of Bakersfield, California – where he trains outside horses and his own for NRCHA events. Roger has qualified for the Finals at several NRCHA events. Although Roger has no previous experience with mustangs, his training partner Rebecca Sternadel does.

Rebecca’s Background

Rebecca had an interest in horses from a very early age and began riding with the Blue Shadows Mounted Drill Team at the age of 9.  At just 14 years old Rebecca and a friend started their own business exercising and caring for privately owned horses at the boarding facility where she kept her horse. At 16 she worked for a local hunter jumper trainer while continuing to build her own training and lesson business. By her mid 20’s she was running a successful riding school with roughly 40 plus clients.   While looking for a horse for a client she found herself in contact with Roger Bias where she discovered the reined cow horse world.  Soon after, she began working for Roger part time while still running her riding school in Sylmar.  After 2 years with Roger she set off to work with “Million Dollar Rider” Jake Gorrell of Hanford, California.  After a year with Jake she now runs her own training program out of Roger Bias’ ranch in Edison, California;  showing and training her own horses and clients horses for reined cowhorse events.
