If you read last week’s article on the USDA’s decision-making process involving the 2015 Dietary Guidelines, you’ll know that the Advisory Committee that makes recommendations to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has used improper science in gathering data on whether or not red meat should be included as part of a well-balanced diet.
There is one month left to submit your comments on the 2015 Dietary Guidelines based on the Advisory Committee’s report. The committee used faulty science in order to make its determinations on red meat, and Secretary Vilsack (who will make the final ruling on the 2015 Guidelines) has shown a bias against red meat in the past as well.
Please send in your written comments – Let them know red meat is essential in receiving the proper vitamins and nutrients to fulfill a well-balanced diet!
