3940 Three Fingers Susie Strawberry – Taylor Gordon

The Wild Spayed Filly Futurity – 3940 Three Fingers Susie Strawberry was purchased at the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity and is now in training with Taylor Gordon of Diamond T Horsemanship.

Taylor Gordon – Trainer Bio

This is Taylor’s second year of involvement with the Wild Spayed Filly Futurity.  Last year he purchased and trained South Steen’s Painted Pawnee.  They competed in the 2018 Wild Spayed Filly Futurity and ended up placing 8th overall.  An impressive finish since this was Taylor’s first time training and showing a reined cow horse.

Taylor Gordon got his first horse at the age of 12. He learned to ride on that horse and eventually encountered his first problem horse, which spurred his interest in training. Being home schooled allowed him the time and flexibility to spend hours working with horses and developing a relationship with them. He knew he wanted to be a professional horse trainer, but the idea was not popular with those close to him. Taylor was determined though, to follow his dream and accomplish his goal. At 18 years old he chose to leave college to devote his time to building his business. With the support of his parents and the use of their property, Taylor started Diamond T Horsemanship.

Diamond T Horsemanship has been steadily growing for the past 8 years. Taylor began with starting colts and fixing problem horses, but recently with his involvement in the Wild Spayed Filly Futurity, he has now  branched out to working with reined cow horses.  With Taylor learning about reined cow horses, he feels his business has evolved into a more complete program.

Taylor and his wife Alissa, a fellow professional horsewoman, lease a facility in Central Oregon.  Together they conduct clinics, train horses, and give lessons. He believes that his experience starting colts and dealing with problem horses gives him the tools needed to start a mustang and take it to a competitive level. He is excited about the opportunity given by Protect the Harvest and Lucas Oil to compete in the Wild Spayed Filly Futurity again and furthering his horsemanship.
