Mike and Jacquie Compston are both fifth-generation Nevadans whose families were part of the agriculture enterprises that made up the foundations of the State. Mining and Agriculture were the main industries until the legalization of gambling.
Active participation in organizations has always been a part of their lives. As members and office holders of various agriculture organizations as well as community service organizations, they continue to promote responsible environmental stewardship, while ensuring the best in animal welfare practices, in the various livestock and farming operations that were integral to their careers.
They operated a commercial feedlot, purebred and commercial cow herds, and farming operations. Strong beliefs in private property rights, especially as they relate to water and land, are values that they continue to fight for and help others in their efforts to defend and preserve. Educating and mentoring young people continues to be the most gratifying of all things for
Jacquie and Mike.
