HSUS Campaign Donation Trail: Coast to Coast

HSUS CAMPAIGN DONATION TRAIL: COAST TO COAST

HSUS Campaign Trail As the elections approach this Tuesday, November 4th, Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has been using its wealth of donations, not to help animal shelters as the commercials typically claim, but to get certain candidates into office that will play ball with them. Through its Humane Society Legislative Fund PAC and through separate donations to dozens of political candidates (both Republican and Democrat), HSUS hopes to fund its agenda through the legislative process. There is nothing new about that statement. Many PACs throughout the country exist for similar purposes. That being said, we feel as though it is important for you to know which candidates and organizations are being supported by them, so that you know whose agendas lines up with theirs. They certainly have a lot of them, as their total contribution amount for these mid-terms runs well over $5 million. The following is a list, state-by-state (35 states in all), of which candidates and organizations have received donations to their campaigns by HSUS. Some of its bigger contributions are to major races in Michigan, Iowa, Oregon, and California, among others. You can find all of this information on the Federal Ethics Commission's website, as well as each separate candidate's state ethics commission filings.
