Protect The Harvest Announces 2024 Jim Harmon Memorial Scholarship Winner

Andi Belt, from Leonard, Missouri, epitomizes the spirit of American agriculture and community. Her winning essay for the 2024 Harmon Memorial Tractor Pull Scholarship sponsored by Protect The Harvest beautifully conveyed the sacrifices Americans make to ensure a Free and Fed America.

Andi is 17 years old and is the eldest daughter of Travis and Jessi Belt. Growing up with four younger brothers on a small farm, she learned the value of hard work early on. Their farm specializes in raising Southdown and Shropshire sheep. Andi’s passion for agriculture extends beyond her family’s farm; she raises her own flock and showcases them at local, state, and national levels.

Despite her busy farm life, Andi excels academically, maintaining a perfect GPA at North Shelby High School. She’s deeply involved in the FFA, finding joy and growth through the organization’s challenges and friendships. Andi’s entrepreneurial spirit shines through her business, where she sells retail cuts of lamb raised on her farm.

With a clear vision for her future, Andi plans to pursue an Agricultural Education Teaching Certificate at the University of Missouri. Her goal is to inspire future generations with the same values of hard work and stewardship that guide her own life. We wish her the best as she goes into this next chapter in her life.
