The current presidential administration has a radical environmental agenda but few realize how closely it aligns with the mission of one of the most extreme environmentalist groups in existence: the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD). We have previously written in depth about CBD and the anti-human beliefs at its core, and now we want to show you the deeper roots of this organization.
Fill In The Blank Model Executive Order
In December 2020, CBD brazenly published a model executive order with their desired actions for the new administration to take, even being so bold as to open their policy wish-list with “I, J….. B…., President of the United States of America, find that the climate crisis, caused primarily by fossil fuels, poses an existential threat to every aspect of society.”
CBD and their cohorts also launched an entire website dedicated to “The Climate President” with their demands for the current administration outlined in detail.
380 Cloned Organizations in Support
Putting on a show of widespread backing in this way is a common tactic of extremist NGOs, used to create an illusion of broad support. In lock-step with this tactic, CBD’s pretend executive order cited the support of 380 organizations—many of which are virtually unheard of and have minuscule membership numbers. Of these 380 NGOs, many have “cloned” members since numerous people listed are members of multiple organizations.
Executive Order and Companion Support Document
Two months after the publication of CBD’s model executive order, our current President (2021) issued Executive Order 14008: Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad. This is also known as the 30X30 initiative, referring to the goal of “conserving” 30% of United States land and water by the year 2030. Additionally, a companion document known as the “America The Beautiful” report further outlines their plans.
Although CBD’s mock executive order calls for more specific changes to be made within a shorter time frame, the overall similarities between the model and actual executive order are of great concern. The resulting possible repercussions for our food and energy security are alarming, with the imminent threat of land grabs and grossly overreaching regulations.
Scripted Alarmist Verbiage
Throughout both documents, repeated reference is made to the alleged “climate emergency” or “climate crisis,” with additional verbiage that dramatically plays up the supposed urgency of addressing the situation.
CBD wrote the following:
“Warming temperatures are already causing more destructive wildfires, stronger hurricanes, worsening droughts, floods, and coastal erosion from rising seas. From the spread of disease to destabilizing food and water security and the unraveling of natural ecosystems, the climate crisis already is killing people across the nation and is costing the U.S. economy billions in damages every year… without deep and rapid emissions reductions, warming will exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius and will result in catastrophic damage around the world. Every fraction of additional warming above 1.5 degrees Celsius will worsen these harms, threatening lives, health and safety, livelihoods, the environment, economy, and national security for this and future generations.”
Similarly, the current president’s executive order stated in Part I, Section 101: “United States international engagement to address climate change—which has become a climate crisis—is more necessary and urgent than ever. The scientific community has made clear that the scale and speed of necessary action is greater than previously believed. There is little time left to avoid setting the world on a dangerous, potentially catastrophic, climate trajectory. Responding to the climate crisis will require both significant short-term global reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and net-zero global emissions by mid-century or before…”
Then later, in Part II, Section 201 it reads: “We face a climate crisis that threatens our people and communities, public health and economy, and, starkly, our ability to live on planet Earth.”
Climate Narrative Dissent Is Buried
Any dissent from the globalist-approved climate narrative is systematically buried. The urgency conveyed is due to their cherry-picked, incomplete studies, but the reality is being revealed by many scientists. A diverse group of 1400 experts from around the world has formally signed a declaration titled “There Is No Climate Emergency,” which can be viewed here: https://clintel.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/WCD-version-100122.pdf
The Declaration website states:
“Climate science should be less political, while climate policies should be more scientific. Scientists should openly address uncertainties and exaggerations in their predictions of global warming, while politicians should dispassionately count the real costs as well as the imagined benefits of their policy measures.”
The real costs they speak of would be the complete destabilization of energy and food security, and of the economy, ironically with minimal actual net benefit to the environment.
Rejoining Paris Climate Accord
In lockstep with the globalist movement, CBD demanded that the United States rejoin the Paris Agreement, and calls for a new nationally determined contribution (NDC) that aims to reduce domestic greenhouse gas emissions by at least 70% below 2005 levels by 2030, and to achieve an additional 125% reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions in developing countries, “in accordance with the U.S.’s fair share.”
Subsequently, the current president’s executive order stated:
“This order builds on and reaffirms actions my Administration has already taken to place the climate crisis at the forefront of this Nation’s foreign policy and national security planning, including submitting the United States instrument of acceptance to rejoin the Paris Agreement. In implementing—and building upon—the Paris Agreement’s three overarching objectives (a safe global temperature, increased climate resilience, and financial flows aligned with a pathway toward low greenhouse gas emissions and climate-resilient development).”
Energy Hypocrisy
CBD specifically requests phasing out fossil fuels and “building back better” (a familiar campaign slogan) to a fossil fuel-free, clean, renewable energy economy. Further, CBD states that, “We must transform our extractive economy to a regenerative and inclusive one.” CBD calls for the end of approvals for new fossil fuel infrastructure projects, the banning of oil and gas exports, and an investigation of the impacts of importing gas and oil.
CBD stated: “The climate crisis demands that the country swiftly replace fossil fuel sources with clean, renewable, and resilient energy, battery storage, smart grid infrastructure, and energy efficiency technologies to achieve 100% clean electricity by 2030.”
CBD conveniently ignores the fact that the extraction of natural resources is also an inherent part of so-called “clean energy.” The materials used to construct windmills, solar panels, and batteries must be mined. The impact on the environment doesn’t end there since the use, maintenance, and eventual disposal of those elements have significant negative effects.
Haste Makes Waste
The current administration calls for a carbon pollution-free electricity sector by 2035. Lindsey Walter, deputy director for Third Way’s Climate and Energy Program, stated in The Scientific American that “previous iterations of a clean energy standard have set a goal of 100% carbon-free energy by 2050 so B… is significantly advancing the timeline.” The mad dash to implement their agenda is disastrously premature, considering that the infrastructure necessary to support 100% carbon-free energy does not yet exist—and getting it put in place would require a gargantuan extraction of natural resources.
American Taxpayer is Twice Burdened
The executive order also states that the “Secretary of the Interior shall pause new oil and natural gas leases on public lands or in offshore waters” after a review of applicable laws. At the same time, the order states a goal of doubling offshore wind by 2030.
Further, the president’s executive order directs that heads of relevant agencies shall “take steps to ensure that…federal funding is not directly subsidizing fossil fuels.” Instead, “federal funding is used to spur innovation, commercialization, and deployment of clean energy technologies and infrastructure.” This corresponds with the Paris agreement’s aim of guiding “financial flows.”
Who is paying for the increase in standard energy costs to purchase food, run households, businesses, and transportation?
Who is funding the deployment of the idea of “clean energy”?
The answers to these questions make it clear that Americans are paying twice for the implementation of a hypocritical ideology.
Pollution Regulations Set Industry Up to Fail
CBD calls for “holding polluters accountable,” and in an exact parallel, Executive Order 14008 states, “We must strengthen our clean air and water protections. We must hold polluters accountable for their actions. We must deliver environmental justice in communities all across America.”
CBD specifies that further regulations should be developed “for stationary sources of greenhouse gases” in various industries, including the feedlots that are essential in animal agriculture. In tandem with the increasing regulations they desire, CBD believes that all violations be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law.
Executive Order 14008 isn’t clear about the regulations and punishments, but it certainly seems that the overall goal is to set certain industries up to fail in matters of pollution, and then to fine and prosecute them into oblivion in the name of environmental justice
Environmental Justice or Environmental Terrorism?
Both the model executive order produced by the Center for Biological Diversity and Executive Order 14008 call for variations of militant environmental justice, from essentially legalizing eco-terrorism, to creating an environmental justice enforcement “strategy.”
In their mock executive order, CBD seeks to decriminalize eco-terrorism, stating: “I direct the Department of Justice to institute rules to protect the rights of individuals protesting climate and environmental harms, including from extreme prosecution and disproportionate sentencing for such persons.”
Executive Order 14008 takes a different but equally troubling approach, stating that the administration will: “consider renaming the Environment and Natural Resources Division the Environmental Justice and Natural Resources Division,” and “to develop a comprehensive environmental justice enforcement strategy, which shall seek to provide timely remedies for systemic environmental violations and contaminations, and injury to natural resources.”
Executive Order 14008 also calls for a “government-wide approach” to fighting the supposed climate crisis. What this truly means remains to be seen. Worrisome is the fact that the impact on our food security and maintenance of a free and fed America seems to be not in the hands of our elected leaders, but in the hands of extremist groups with their own agenda.
The signs point to a grim reality for Americans who simply want to affordably feed their families and warm their homes, all in the name of an ideology that is the globalist environmental movement.
